With a strong background in social entrepreneurship research and years of experience running a successful software company, Dirk decided to pivot his career towards something more meaningful. This desire to make a positive environmental impact led to the creation of Greenseedz in New York in 2024.

Greenseedz focuses on offering eco-friendly cleaning products that are effective and accessible, reflecting Dirk’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. Beyond just providing products, Greenseedz actively participates in social and environmental initiatives, such as donating a portion of its profits to reforestation projects and organizing community cleanups, including an upcoming event at the Capibaribe River in Recife, Brazil.

Leading Sustainability, One Household and One Forest at a Time

At Greenseedz™, we’re reshaping how household products can drive environmental change. Our range includes laundry detergent pods, dishwasher pods, and laundry sheets, all designed with sustainability in mind. We use FSC-certified, biodegradable packaging and concentrated enzyme-based formulas to minimize waste and reduce carbon emissions.

Since launching in March 2024, we’ve sold nearly 25,000 boxes, saving 7.5 metric tons of CO2 by avoiding plastic containers and keeping 25,000 plastic packages out of landfills. This is just one way we’re reducing waste and emissions across our supply chain.

But we’re not stopping there. We are saving profits to purchase 1850 hectares of depleted land in Brazil’s Mata Atlântica. Our reforestation project will be the most modern reforestation effort in history, integrating AI, machine learning, and robotics to optimize planting, monitor growth, and ensure long-term success. We are aiming somewhere between 44,000 and 110,000 tons of CO2 annually, which over the next decade could total between 440,000 and 1.1 million metric tons of CO2 depending on how many trees are planted and their sequestration rates. With these amounts of CO2 we are far exceeding our own carbon footprint. We’re also offering carbon credit solutions while enhancing water filtration, biodiversity, and spring recovery.

As a modern cleantech startup, our products are used in thousands of U.S. households, helping consumers make sustainable choices every day. But we’re committed to creating measurable environmental change on a larger scale.
